SP Barry Zito would like to pitch somewhere in 2014.
After seven rocky years that culminated in winning a World Series win in 2012, Zito has formally parted ways with the San Francisco Giants.
Zito lost both of his parents, including his father Joe, this past season. The Giants declined his $18 million option and will instead owe him a $7 million buyout.
We’ll miss you next season, Zeets :(
Poor Hufflepuff. Everyone who wasn’t cunning, intelligent, or brave got sent to Hufflepuff
Ding-dong, you are wrong.
Everyone who had immense amounts of courage but, when given the choice, would decide that fighting is not as important as staying put to care for the people a war leaves in its wake ended up in Hufflepuff.
Everyone who was extremely intelligent but simply considered it a much more defining characteristic to be loyal and faithful to people they love, rather than taking pride in their intelligence*, ended up in Hufflepuff.
Everyone who wanted to do something important and had enough cunning to manipulate others and wind their way to the top, but never would because they considered it more important to be honest and earn their success fairly and through hard work ended up in Hufflepuff
Everyone who was brave, and smart, and cunning, but did not consider those traits to be the most important and defining aspects of their personality ended up in Hufflepuff.
Helga Hufflepuff made a conscious decision to accept only those students who were honest and loyal and true enough to themselves to say “No. Courage and intelligence and cunning are all valuable traits, but I will not define myself by them because I believe there are things more important than that.”
We are not your fucking leftovers.
Helga Hufflepuff believed that EVERYONE had the potential to learn and use magic and become a strong person. Helga Hufflepuff turned nobody away. She saw the best and positive in everyone. Gryffindor believed only in people who were brave to the point of recklessness. Ravenclaw believed only in people who were intelligent to the point of obscurity and alienation. And Slytherin believed in those who were utterly self centred to the point where love and compassion became a struggle.
Helga believed in everyone. Even if they were nothing like her at all. She believed in everyone. She didn’t cherry pick. She spread her favour and belief equally. She was the most open minded of the four founders and her house has produced Witches and Wizards of enormous talent and personal worth.
These people weren’t ‘sent’ to Hufflepuff. They were chosen by her, because she chose everybody.
John Morrison’s entrance
When I came back to wrestling in 2009, John Morrison was my favourite dude. He slow-mo pose with the multicoloured pyro always looks great, even if they don’t explain how he manages to teleport halfway down the ramp after he’s done.
He may not have been the best and we may have despised how he sucked before recently, but never forget that Zito is a good character, and we honestly wouldn’t have won the second World Series championship without him.
